Yoshihito Usui, creator of Crayon Shin-chan, has died. He went hiking in the mountains about 10 days ago and disappeared. His body was discovered about a day ago--preliminary reports indicate he may have fallen off a cliff.
Crayon Shin-chan is one of the two anime that I can enjoy watching after 14 years in Japan. It's fresh and daring and "real", moreso than pretty much anything else being produced today. Usui-sensei, you will be missed.
