Welcome, new members! If you couldn't make it to the meeting on Monday, don't worry, drop by our booth at Clubs Days tomorrow and Friday between 10-3 in the SLC Great Hall, and someone will be there to answer your questions. I will be cosplaying on Friday afternoon, and rumour has it that people might set up some anime games like Touhou.

The Evangelion movie, "EVANGELION 1.0: YOU ARE (NOT) ALONE" is getting a Canada-wide release September 30th 7pm & October 3rd 10am (2 days only). Check out Cineplex and Empire to see where it's playing nearest you.

Welcome to Fall 2009! This is Mo, the webmaster last term. For those who are coming back, and those who are new to the university and would like to check us out, I bring you information on our first events and where you can find us.

• First general meeting - Monday Sept 21st, 6pm, MC 2034MC 4020. On the agenda, we have elections to do. For a summary of positions and what they do, please check this page. For more detailed information, and about election procedures, please read the Club Constitution Then we'll decide what series to show this term, as well as brainstorming on event ideas and preparation. If you have any questions about the club, there will be someone there to answer it.
• Clubs Days - Thursday Sept 24 & Friday Sept 25th, 10am-3pm, SLC Great Hall. If you missed the meeting, come check us out at our Clubs Days Booth. We'll be happy to answer your questions.
• Anime Show #1 - Friday Sept 25th, 4:30pm - 10ish & Saturday Sept 26, time tba, AL 116. Come to our first event! We'll be showing anime (which series? come to the first meeting to help us decide!), and probably have some sort of event during the dinner break.

You can buy a membership at any of those places mentioned above. Membership is $8 per term, but if you're Frosh, it's $7.

Studio Ghibli's Ponyo (aka Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea) is coming to theatres this Friday Aug 14th!! While it's not playing in the Galaxy Cinemas in Waterloo or Kitchener, it is playing at Princess Twin (on King st. Uptown Waterloo). It's not on the calendar though, so I don't know the showtimes as of yet.

We could organize a group trip to Princess Twin. But we'd need to know the showtimes first. So for now, I'm just letting you know it's playing, and keep you updated if we do organize a group trip.

[edit]: The showtimes are up now, playing on Friday and Saturday only all next week (Aug 14-Aug 20). Go check it out!

The end of term survey is here! Click here to start it. It's 13 questions long, and anonymous, so please take some time to let us know how we did and how we can improve. The deadline for the survey will be Tuesday Aug 4 at noon. In case you forget and miss it though, we will have a paper copy at our final meeting.

Speaking of final meeting, it will be Tuesday Aug 4 starting at 6pm. We'll be doing term wrap-up, and some next-term preparations. And if people are interested, we can drop by Mel's afterwards to attempt the Godfather burger (which we did last term, and nobody managed to finish).
