Yoshito Usui (Crayon Shin-chan author) missing
I'm surprised that this hasn't been mentioned here yet. Yoshito Usui, creator of the Crayon Shin Chan manga has gone missing.
He apparently went mountain climbing, and when he didn't return his family called the police. News reports state that a body has been found on the mountain he was hiking on, but no positive id as of yet. If I posted this in the wrong section, please move it to where it should belong. |

Re: Yoshito Usui missing
According to an article on ANN , The clothes found on the body that was found resemble the one he was last seen wearing.

Re: Yoshito Usui missing
ANN is reporting now that the body has been identified as Yoshito Usui. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...n-yoshito-usui
Although not a big Shin-chan fan, I have seen some of it here and there and enjoyed it. Most recently one of the movies while I was in Japan (some kind of old Japan revolution). The manga world has lost a great talent.

Re: Yoshito Usui missing
Damn, that's a shame. I liked some of his work, and could appreciate his contributions to the manga culture. Hopefully, his family will be able to remember him through their memories of him. The manga and anime world will remember him through his work.

Re: Yoshito Usui (Crayon Shin-chan author) missing
A sad day for Shin-chan fans.
The publisher is saying future publication of the manga is "to be determined." Moved, not for being "wrong" where it was but mostly for being more of interest to the manga community.
