Ganbatte Forever! Rotating Header Image

I’m not dead, but sadly, Usui Yoshito (Crayon Shin-chan) is.

If you don’t know who he was, then let me reprimand you for not knowing the author of Crayon Shin-chan, or for the Chinese readers out there, being one of them, 蠟筆小新/蜡笔小新.

According to FNN, he was confirmed dead after apparently falling 120 meters off a cliff. The last thing he told his family on the day of 9/11 was that he went hiking in Gunma. He died at the age of 51.

I loved to read Shin-chan during my childhood years, and even though it might be perverted or immature at times, it was still a great manga to get a laugh out of anyone. After 49 volumes of comedy gold, we are left with the final two chapters to come before Yoshito’s grave death.

R.I.P., Yoshito-san. Thanks for making a part of our precious childhoods precious.
