Holiday Cards by Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA

It seems like Dakota was at UCLA last thursday for a very good reason. She’shelping promote the The Holiday Card Art Program at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA. This creative collection features cards of the season created by young patients who share their interpretation of holiday celebrations from the bedside. Proceeds from card sales benefit the Child Life/Child Development Program, whose specialists work with young patients at bedside to assist creative expression and ease fear and anxiety during lengthy hospitalizations. Dakota was spotted arriving at UCLA Medical Center yesterday (September 10), we hope she’s ok with her. She looks really gorgeous, love her outfit! Enjoy the pictures in the gallery.

New Movie for Dakota?

According to variety.com, Dakota is attached to a new movie called Betsy and the Emperor. Her role would be Betsy Balcombe, a 14 year old British girl. It sounds really intersting and hopefully we’ll hear more on this soon! Would be pretty neat to hear Dakota speaking with a British accent.

MADRID — Barcelona-based producer Zip Films has taken a minority co-production stake on Killer Films’ $20 million film project “Betsy and the Emperor.”

Pic is based on a children’s book published in 2004 by New York writer Staton Rabin, previously set up at Warner Bros. kids unit Storyopolis.

Helmed by John Curran, “Betsy” has Al Pacino attached to limn Napoleon Bonaparte while Dakota Fanning will play 14-year-old British girl Betsy Balcombe, whose family entertained Bonaparte at their home on the Atlantic island of St. Helena.

“Betsy’s” studio shoot will roll early 2010 in the U.S. According to Zip Films producer Jordi Rediu, Zip is now scouting for locations in Spain to re-create St. Helena, where Napoleon spent the last days of his life.

Zip has taken all rights for Spain, Portugal and Andorra.

Zip’s co-production deal was inked by Adi Cohen and Joseph Grinkorn’s New York-based capital risk company GC Group, owner of the “Betsy” film and stage adaptation rights.

Shopping at Barney’s

There are some new pictures of Dakota out and about with her mom. The two were spotted shopping at Barney’s New York yesterday (September 2). Unfortunally the pictures are tagged, hopefully we’ll get HQs or at least untagged versions.

Later: I found some HQ versions and replaced the tagged ones as they were the same, enjoy!
