Walter Hofman
Who is Dr.
Walter Hofman?
Dr. Walter Hofman is board certified in
Anatomic, Clinical and Forensic Pathology. He did his pathology
internship and residency at the Boston University and Harvard
Medical School hospitals.
He completed a fellowship in Forensic
Pathology at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner,
Baltimore.
Currently, Dr. Hofman practices pathology
at Roxborough Memorial Hospital, is a designated forensic
pathologist for the State of New Jersey and is a consultant to
the Department of Health for the State of Florida.

is Forensic Pathology?
This is the specialized practice of
pathology as it pertains to the investigation of sudden,
unexpected, unusual and traumatic deaths.
Dr.
Hofman’s Biography
He is the former Chairman of Laboratory
Medicine at Roxborough Hopital, Philadelphia.
He was full
clinical professor of pathology at Temple University Medical
School and associate clinical professor of pathology at the
University of Pennsylvania Medical School.
As a member of the Departments of Legal
Medicine and Forensic Sciences at the Armed forces Institute of
Pathology, Washington, DC. for almost 25 years, he retired as a
Lieutenant Colonel.
;He has been a member of the Montgomery
County Medical Legal Committee for over 25 years and a past
chairperson for almost 10 years.
He has personally performed over 10,000
(ten thousand) autopsies and issued over 15,000 (fifteen
thousand) death certificates.
He has been involved
in numerous high profile cases and is accepted and respected as
an expert in Forensic Pathology throughout the United States and
in Canada.

650 board certified forensic pathologists in the country.

more than 30 (thirty) years, both as hospital pathologist and
medical examiner.

* He is a reviewer for the peer review
monthly publication “Military Medicine”.
* He has accumulated vast experience as a
pathologist and medical examiner

Dr. Walter Hofman and his wife Ethel, a
syndicated food journalist, have lived in Lower Merion for more
than 30 years.
