Looks like both thugs and people who want personal protection buy aluminum baseball bats in Germany. The US Amazon site pictures ALL the listed bats pointing to the right–wonder why the German site has them all to the left.

Does not surprise me at all. This is taken from the German Amazon site. Baseball is not very popular in Germany, and I’d venture the guess that most baseball bats purchased there won’t be used to hit balls. THAT kind of balls…

Immature and stupid. Are we, as educated and modern Americans, really still stuck on WW2 and German violence jokes? Are we really still that insolent and childish?
Germany is one of the most pacifistic and anti-violent countries in the world today, in contrast to America home of Freedom (hello, 10,000 gun homicides per year). I find it ironic that such a self-professedly wise and peace-loving country is the one at the butt-end of every violent and blood-thirsty joke in the WORLD. Not Germany, buddies.
It’s pretty clear that this could have even been engineered by a small group of friends – just like the GW bush failure thing – because as said – no one buys baseball bats in Germany, because baseball sucks.
Try to enjoy life while you can. A german with a baseball bat and pepperspray may lie just around the corner.
