A PAIR OF SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY JARS AND COVERS
TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
Each high-shouldered jar with short waisted neck and lipped rim raised on a slightly flaring flat foot, decorated in green, amber, blue and ivory with five V-shaped panels and resist-decorated with white dot bands and florets on the green ground falling irregularly to the lower body exposing the white underslip and buff ware, the covers with similar decoration

Acquired in Hong Kong in 1995.
The result of Oxford Authentication thermoluminescence test nos. C109g47 and C109g45 are consistent with the dating of this lot.
