Since it is unlikely that Blizzard will release two major games at the same time, it is most likely that Diablo fans will have to stick to the second part of the series for a little longer. A hack allows you to play the RPG in resolutions higher than the original maximum of 800 x 600 pixels.
You are a fan of Diablo and are anxiously waiting for the third part of the RPG series? Then you might want to pass the time until the game is finally released with Diablo 2. With a hack for the game it is possible to play at resolutions higher than 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 which are supported originally.
So how would Diablo 2 look like in widescreen mode? Our colleagues at the Widescreen Gaming Forum tested the modification and ran it at 1,280 x 1,024 and 1,280 x 720. The WSGF user Mythiasis went even further and by editing the registry he was able to get Diablo 2 to run at 3,840 x 1,024 pixels on his Matrox TripleHead2Go. Below you can see a comparison to demonstrate the differences between the individual screen resolutions.

If you want to play Diablo 2 at higher resolutions, just take a look at the
Widescreen Gaming Forum thread.
ATTENTION: This is a hack for Diablo 2. Do not try to use this while playing online via Battle.net, otherwise you could have to face severe consequences from Blizzard.
