Questions Arise About Jackson's 'Lethal' Dose, Death Timeline
In a Los Angeles Times feature, several medical experts discussed their feelings about the details of the Jackson report, which stated that Dr. Conrad Murray administered 50 milligrams of propofol to Jackson on a nightly basis for some time. Murray told police that on the day Jackson died, he only gave the King of Pop 25 milligrams. Both the 25 and 50 milligram doses are nowhere near enough to kill a person, doctors who spoke with the Times said.
"It doesn't make any sense... I cannot believe that was the number that was given. Such a small amount won't tip anyone over in terms of respiratory depression," Dr. John Dombrowski, a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, told the Times.
Michael Jacksons Doctors
Dr. Conrad Murray, who was Michael Jackson's cardiologist, has been a primary person of interest in Jackson's death investigation. Murray has admitted to law enforcement that he administered the drug propofol to the singer. The powerful anesthetic is reportedly what killed Jackson.

Murray was at Jackson's house on the day that he died. According to new documents, he left Jackson to make some phone calls, and when he returned, the King of Pop was not breathing.

Another one of Jackson's doctors, dermatologist Arnold Klein, has also faced speculation that he may have provided the music legend with illegal prescription drugs. He has denied any involvement in Jackson's death.

Jackson's nutritionist Cherilyn Lee has told interviewers that Jackson begged her for drugs. "He didn't take any medications from me, I'm just nutritional. When it switched over to medication, especially that particular medication, I told him -- I only deal with nutrition," she says. Records from her office have been taken to aid in the investigation into his death.

Dombrowski says that there was likely an error either in Murray's description or in the police's understanding of the medical jargon.
Another doctor, Dr. Scott Engwall of UC Irvine's School of Medicine, says that 50 milligrams of propofol is enough to cause someone to sleep for anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, but not enough by any means to be a "lethal" dose. Engwall said in the case of Jackson, who had been taking the drug constantly, might not even doze off from a 50 milligram dose.
"I think it's not unreasonable that there is some part of this picture we still do not know," Engwall told the Times.
According to TMZ, someone of Jackson's body size would need about 400 milligrams of propofol to sleep for 8 hours, which would amount to 16 times the dosage that Murray claims he gave Jackson.
In addition, PEOPLE is reporting that during a search of Jackson's house, other drugs including marijuana and bottles both full and empty of prescription drugs were found.
Also in question is the timeline from the day of Jackson's death that was in the newly-unsealed documents. According to police, Murray found Jackson not breathing around 11 a.m., and did not call 911 until 80 minutes later. In that time, police say he made several phone calls for a total of 47 minutes.
Murray's attorney Ed Chernoff has released a statement disputing the timeline. The statement reads: "Much of what was in the search warrant affidavit is factual. However, unfortunately, much is police theory. Most egregiously, the timeline reported by law enforcement was not obtained through interviews with Dr. Murray, as was implied by the affidavit. Dr. Murray simply never told investigators that he found Michael Jackson at 11 a.m. not breathing."

Wrong! He didn't want to leave his children, trust me he cherished them. He just was surrounded by people that only wanted his money. My heart breaks for him because he was too trustful!

Put this doc away for a long time. It's about time that doctors who will take a position to save lives and do exactly the opposite and endanger the lives of anyone should be punished. I hope he gets life..since he took someone else's life. I'm so happy to know that justice will be done here. Quit blaming Jackson..he is dead and doesn't have a voice to say anything about the injustice. Give me a break..doctors who will prescribe anything to anyone because of the status in life just because they'll pay should pay!

The funny thing is I have not read about any reports that says someone put a gun to Michaels head and made him take these drugs for so many years. So I guess it is not Micheals fault he turned himself into a junkie?

Buy the song "Smile", watch the Vienna concert and go see the MJ movie in late October. Show MJ how much you loved him by buying MJ merchandise. It is what MJ would have wanted.

I'v seen enough of what has happened to Michael.
The only reports I'd like to hear now are: Michael is now resting in Peace and finally has a normal burial.
I've spent many sleepless nights since his death, just thinking of him laying in a cold basement. All alone, while people and family go on with their lives at the advantage of Michael.
I'm just waiting for closeure from LAPD on who is responsible for Michael's unnecessary death.
Their is a long list of people responsible and I hope and pray everyone involved is help responsible.
It is nice to know that Michael's Children have their own bedrooms now. This way they will have the oppertunity to private time for themselves.
After all, this is really their home. Michael owns this house and the Children should always come first.
Michael's brothers have made enough money by now to finally move out and can afford to get their own places.
These are my Opinions Only..
You only feel with you heart and mine is breaking for Michael.

Oh bull crap, like that loser Dr. Murray is going to admit the doses he gave to Michael, plus he would have had to continuously give him the Propofol for him to have that much in him to kill him, he's a liar and an accomplice to murder or manslaughter, why don't they just arrest him

The criminal charge against the doctor should be murder. As to the dose of Propofol reported to have been given, any MD who has used this drug has had patients become unresponsive without breathing with doses of 20 - 50 mgs. Other considerations that may account for the death include the innumerable other sedatives & painkillers that he was taking at the same time he was receiving propofol. It is more likely that a physician who knowingly used propofol illegally in a patient's bedroom would not report when questioned by the authorities that he gave an amount beyond that which is commonly used in an operating room.
Greed has no limits and a licensed physician who is paid handsomely to administer controlled substances should be dealt with severely by the law.

Hey Steve, I agree with you, but are you aware, Dr. Conrad Murray is not even board certified. Looks like he failed his test over and over. Likely Michael may have chosen him because of that fact, knowing he'd give Michael what ever he wanted if the price was right. Murray went for it Hook, Line and Sinker! Yes, Michael was a severe addict and would do about anything to get what he wanted, and the line up of Doctor's and pharmacies, now being charged is getting longer every day. They will be dealt with Steve and I bet severley as you suggest they should be. They are going to be used as examples, and it's about time.

I met Michael Jackson when he was a small boy visiting his cousins on Kentucky ST.,in Gary,Ind. My daughter was having a birthday party and they all came over and sang and dance for her (they had no money for a gift)we never forgot the fun they all had that day. The same daughter died at age 41 of a perscription overdose given to her by her doctor,I couldnot believe the sad irony of thier deaths. No,attorney here would take my case. I feel these doctors play GOD with our childrens'lives. You have my most heart felt sympathy.Color has no name and only GOD has all the answers. GOD BLESS!

This doctor needs to be charge and his medical license needs to be revoke.
It is obvious to everyone that not only he is lying
about the whole situation to protect himself.
The Jackson family needs to sue him in a civil case after the criminal case is completed and he's found guilty.
He is nothing more than a drug pusher with a license.
He need to

If the lab tests show lethal doses of Propofol, then who else could have administered it? The doctor admits giving him the drug, but either the autopsy results are wrong or he is lying to try to save his skin. Also, the administration of a drug in a hospital setting is very different than a home setting. There is recussitative equipment in a hospital that is not in a home. Also, in a hospital, the pharmacy dispenses the product in its proper dose, then the anesthesiologist administers it after checking the dosage again. My guess is that Doc dosed MJ incorrectly. I happens more often than people think even when there are safeguards in place. Either way, the doctor should be held liable for his actions. RIP, MJ!

MARY, I CAN APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENT. AS I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT MY DILEMMA, I'VE MET SOME POWERFUL FIGURES, AND HAVE MET SOME OF THE CLOSEST MEN, TO PHIL ANSCHUTZ, WHO FINANCED MICHAEL'S COMEBACK TOUR. I CAN HONESTLY SAY, WHEN YOU OWN SOMETHING VALUABLE, OR HAVE A HUGE TALENT, YOU QUITE SIMPLY, BECOME A TARGET. AND IF YOU HAVE WEAKNESSES, OR A MOMENT OF VULNERABILITY, IT CAN BE FATAL. SUCH IS THE WORLD, WE LIVE IN.

It is obvious that Murray has been lying the whole time about how much he gave him and the time of death. He has to pay for his stupidity. HE is no doctor for sure just a big drug pusher out for money. Michael was abused by his father and then abused by America itself. This is so sad for a person that was so good. People are so brainwashed that he was no good they would rather listen to the ridiculous media than know the true story. Anything strange Michael did he was pushed into doing by all of them hounding him. They need to get everyone responsible for Michael's death! He had a hard life trying to deal with all the tragedy. Let him rest in peace! I pray for the day that they get these people and lay him to rest already.
If they find anything else in his house then it was planted there because there is too many gaps in this whole story.
