Officials say the pilot and a female passenger died in the crash near Harrison High School in Harrison.
Parent Ed Meyer says he saw the plane go down as he was watching his son play football. He says "it was so sad to see, but there was nothing you could do."
The names of the deceased have not been released.
Officials say the National Transportation and Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.

Never, never again will I get close to another football field. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, approximately 50 people were killed by cars.

Hookmrl: I am not talking about god bringing this plane down but more and more natural disasters are happening now days fires in cal huricanes tjornados and other stuff just look around-----------------------------------------Yeah, so much worse than the great flood and the numerous plagues. Then there were the Londo and Chicago fires. The worst tornado in US history took place in 1925. In total, there were 652 deaths and over 2000 people injured. BTW, if you are a "believer," why do you not capitalize God? People on here seem to capitalize everything but.

During the entire recorded history of humans, and obviously more so before recorded history -- Travel has been dangerous.During the California Gold Rush and the following wagon train movement to the Western Lands -- at least 25% of those who departed Westport and St. Joseph, Missouri -- did not survive the first year. most dying enroute.Disease and lack of safe drinking water probably accounted for most of t hose deaths. But a majority of infants born on the trails died, along with many of the mothers.Eight horse hitches caused deaths with runaways.Wildfire swept through camps and across trails, with some started by the Indians battling to save their own existence.Ironically, air travel is safer than highway vehicular travel, but a two-person fatality with a light plane anywhere gets WWW and broadcast/print news coverage. When is the last time anyone in northern Maine saw a headline, announcing "Santa Monica Couple dies in L.A Freeway Rollover."

This is tragic. There is a book available, Tower of Jacob. It is available on Amazon. If anyone is interested, it speaks to flying and risks and mind of the pilot.
