Michael Jackson Apodaca, 18, an Army private stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, was paid to assassinate a mid-level Mexican drug cartel member who was working as an informant for the Unites States, court records say. Apodaca is one of three men charged with gunning down the informant in El Paso on May 15.

500 Dogs Seized From Texas Kennel

Officials seize more than 500 dogs and 15 cats from a suspected puppy mill in Texas. The Humane Society says it began investigating the kennel after someone requested food donations for the dogs. No arrests have been made in the case.
