Central Islip House Fire Declared Arson; Three Adults Found Shot
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 6-year-old boy rescued a 2-year-old girl from a fire early Tuesday that reduced the interior of a suburban home to ashes, and where the bodies of three adults were later found among the smoldering debris, police said.

The two women and a man who were found in the charred Central Islip house had been shot, but it was unclear whether they died from their gunshot wounds or the fire, which was ruled an arson, Suffolk County police said.
Police late Tuesday identifed two of the adults as Katrice Daniels, 31, who lived at the home on Hickory Street, and Louis Calixto, 19, of Central Islip. The third adult, a female, has not been identified.
The bodies were found in a rear bedroom of the house, police said.
Firefighters were called to the blaze about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, Detective Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick said. When rescuers arrived, they found the two-story Cape Cod house fully engulfed in flames.
Jessie Scott, who lives on the same street but didn't know the people at the house, said that he woke to see a bright light through his window coming from the flames. He said he went outside and saw that the fire was moving quickly.
``This house went up so fast, it went up like a matchbox,'' he said.
The children, who were found outside the house, were taken to a hospital as a precaution, but were not injured, police said.
