DEngl20237.... what the hell are you saying? yea cops job is to stop the chase... and don't worry i'm sure they are pretty messed up over the situation the last thing they want are innocent children to get hurt but if they are in a car with someone that is driving recklessly than yes that officer has a duty to stop that car... you think that they should of just let them go? people like you are what's wrong with this country... no respect for authority... they did their job and unfortunately this had to happen...

I was just wondering I see all the comments from everyone about but no one has commented on the fact that the children were all in the back of an open truck and not in seatbelts. The tragedy might have been avoided if the kids were belted in. The kids wouldn't have gotten ejected and killed if they were in proper seats. What does everyone else think about this? The police should't have been having a high speed chase over a traffic infraction. They should have gotten the license place number and looked up their address and gone to pick up the offenders instead of chasing them into traffic where such a tragedy could or did happen. The offenders might have been just scared of the cops and run not meaning to hurt anyone. If people would only think about the big picture before they do things tragedies can be avoided. The police should use logic. The parents who lost the most, obviously didn't have the money to afford a bigger car to be transporting the kids safely. If things weren...

It is meaningless to start calling names and using stereotypes to describe what happened. The police was doing their job and it is the action of reckless and irresponsible people that led to the tragedy. If the kids in the truck did not have seat belts on, then the adults also bear some responsibility.
