NEW YORK (Aug. 8) - Italian tourist Paola Casali said she and her teenage son would have been on the ill-fated helicopter that crashed into the Hudson River on Saturday if the boy hadn't gotten cold feet.
Casali and her son, Lorenzo Bossola, had been scheduled to take the helicopter tour around the time of the crash. But Lorenzo was too scared to go, and by the time his mother convinced him, they were late getting to the heliport. The doomed copter had already left.

"I feel very, really lucky," Casali said with tears in her eyes.
Five other Italian tourists are among nine who are presumed dead after their Liberty Tours chopper collided with a small plane over the Hudson River.
Casali told The New York Times she believes that fate or a higher power prevented them from making the doomed flight.
"I feel so confused, but I feel that we are so lucky," she told the newspaper. "Today begins a new life for me."
As Casali and Lorenzo waited to catch the next tour, she said she chatted with relatives of the five tourists who were on the helicopter that crashed. When rumors of the accident began to circulate, she tried to reassure them.
"The (relatives) were very worried, but I told them, 'Don't worry, it's very safe, I've done it several times,'" Casali told Sun Media.

Folks...read the article to the end. Unless the writer made a mistake in reporting the relatives of the folks who died on flight got wind of what happened and were nervous. They were waiting for their turn with her and her son. She reassured them that it was safe and all would be ok. Am I to understand from the article that they all went up, then, for a ride instead of morning their relatives? .

I warned my best friend not to date someone many many years before she died, well, she ignored me, dated him, had two kids 12,7, and he wouldn't marry her but all his jealous, violent ways came out during those years and I was the friend that warned her and he hated me and he and I never spoke.Well, my gut-feeling was right. She tried to break up with him and now she's six feet under, yes he killed her!!!I

It reminds me of the Washington Square Park crash in 1992. One of my friends who died that day had been sitting on the very bench I was sitting on two hours earlier. It is a spooky feeling, but go with glad to be alive.
