Three American tourists are said to have been arrested in Iran. Kurdish officials say the tourists apparently strayed into Iranian territory by accident while hiking near the border in the self-ruled Kurdish region of northern Iraq. The State Department says it is investigating.

The space shuttle Endeavour returns to Earth with some unusual cargo: anti-bacterial, anti-odor underwear and other garments that were tested by Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata during his months on the international space station. Wakata says the experiment was a success because his colleagues "never complained" while he wore the underwear.

A Nevada father reaches out in a public letter after the drowning death of his 2-year-old daughter. Paul Kruyer's letter to a local news reporter reminds parents how easy it is to lose a child in a moment of inattention. Kruyer writes that his family's suffering will have a purpose "if one less child drowns because THEIR family has felt our grief and become just that much more vigilant."
