Joyce, whose real name was Betty Leabo, appeared in some two dozen movies but she is best known for succeeding Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane in the 'Tarzan' pictures. She appeared in the 'Tarzan' movies in the 1940s, opposite Johnny Weissmuller and later Lex Barker.
She tackled the campy role beginning with 'Tarzan and the Amazons' (1945) and ending with 'Tarzan's Magic Fountain' (1949), which according to IMDB was her last movie.
Ragan says she worked for the immigration department for a decade, helping new immigrants find housing and work.
She is survived by a son, two daughters and three grandchildren.

ZZxxxZZ1619 04:35 PMJul 23 2009 Wow, she was old like fifty years ago! ********************** Wow, and your like an a-hole today, tomorrow, and the foreseeable future. Don't you have some challenging coloring books to occupy your feeble brain? This woman was part of a great generation of American entertainment based on integrity, true grit, bravery and realism. Something the kool-aid crowd can't see through the fog of their inebriated self absorbtion.
