LEBANON, Ohio (July 17) - Authorities in Ohio are looking for thieves who broke into a home while the family of a 2-year-old was at a funeral home preparing for the boy's services.

The sheriff's office in southwest Ohio's Warren County says 2-year-old Levi Jones, son of Ryan and Beth Jones, died in an ATV accident last week. Deputies say the family was at a Waynesville funeral home with the body on Friday when their home was burglarized. Police believe the thieves deliberately used the opportunity to rob the family.
Family members say the burglars got by two dogs and broke in the back door. They took an antique gun and some jewelry.
Detectives called the break-in at the home of a grieving family appalling, but it's not an isolated case. Police in California say thieves targeted another family that was mourning the loss of a relative at a home in Vallejo on July 10, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. At least seven attackers robbed the victims at gunpoint. The victims were assaulted, and one was hit in the head with a handgun, authorities said.

MsSheerness---I know all about how funeral homes rob a person. Like their jewerly family members bury a love one with. Oh please, when the family is turned the other way, the funeral people steal it. Those outragous prices for buring someone.

Kbrokenhearted: My condolences on the tragic loss of your children, my heart goes out to you. It's absolutely disgusting that people preyed upon your tragedy to benefit themselves, I'm sorry. Did you at least confront the people that you came across looting what was left of your home? Hopefully you called the police, I would have!

It doesn't say that the child was on the ATV, just that it was an ATV accident. Yes...more than likely he was, but other things could have happened, as well. He could have ran out in front of one, the driver could have lost control and flipped it and it rolled over the child, the ATV could have rolled off of the trailer/truck onto the child...etc.......however it happened, the parents can't possibly feel more guilt, regret and punishment than they're facing now. If *anything* could possibly come out of this, maybe more people will read this and use better judgement regarding big toys/little kids. So sad it had to take this.

3 years ago my 2 boys died in a tragic house fire. I started a memorial outside my property the next day. I started to notice things missing. Then I came to the property to find two people luding the memorial and what was left of my home (which wasn't anything). The nerve of some people!!!!!!
