Steve McNair 911 Call: 'It's So Messed Up,' Stunned Friend Tells Operator

Text Size A A A

The Nashville Police Department on Wednesday released the 911 call that Steve McNair's friend Robert Gaddy made to report the deaths of McNair and Sahel Kazemi, the woman police say killed McNair before killing herself.

An obviously shocked Gaddy sounds confused and disoriented as he attempts to explain to the 911 dispatcher that he found two bodies. Police said today that Gaddy called 911 and hung up, and the recording is of a call that took place when the dispatcher called Gaddy back.

"I hate to be the one to make this call," Gaddy said. "It's so messed up."

McNair's friend Wayne Neely was the first to find McNair and Kazemi's bodies, and he called Gaddy, who went to the apartment and placed the call to 911. Gaddy was a college teammate of McNair's at Alcorn State.
