Authorities are investigating whether a burglary suspect who was shot and killed this morning by police in North Carolina may be a wanted serial killer, whose sketch is seen on the right. Police say the killer is responsible for the slayings of five people in a nearby South Carolina community since June 27.

Prosecutors say Kristen LaBrie repeatedly failed to follow doctors' instructions on how to care for her 9-year-old son, Jeremy Fraser.
