    He was the lead singer for the very popular Jackson 5 that included the his brothers -- Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon. He then morphed into a highly successful recording artist, making his first solo album in 1972.

    Over the course of his storied career, Jackson won 13 Grammy awards -- eight of them for 'Thriller' alone.

    His stage presence captured the hearts of millions -- including his signature "moonwalk" dance which he unveiled in 1983 while performing 'Billie Jean.' At 50 years old, he was attempting to make a comeback with several dates scheduled in London.

    Jackson's successes were also marred by personal strife and controversy. In later years, the singer was twice accused of molesting children. In the first, he settled out of court with the accuser, and in the second he was found not guilty.

    Jackson is seen being escorted into court in January of 2004 -- the second time he was charged with child molestation. The first, in 1993, resulted in a settlement reported to be worth about $23 million.

    Jackson is shown here in his 2003 mug shot where he was booked on child molestation charges. The singer was later acquitted.

    The 'Dangerous' star caused a stir when he held his youngest child, Prince Michael II, over the balcony of his Berlin hotel in 2002. His son was later dubbed 'Blanket' due to this incident.

Didn't Michael Jackson's lifestyle (including drugs and illegally-earned income) set some bad examples, especially for Black America? Give it some thought, for all the facts are not out yet, and far too many young Blacks in the U.S.A. are deciding that high school and college just aren't for them--and a show biz star on the door will be there automatically. Start learning your "ABC" -- not your Jackson tunes, brother.

All of you people talking bad about M.J. should really be sympathetic to his family, and also his children. Hes a human that lost his life too a drug pushing doctor, as if we dont have enough of them, but hes also an Icon, a legend, and i bet every one of you has sung at least one of his songs in the past at least 1. LEAVE THE JACKSONS ALONE AND LET THEM BURY HIM THE WAY HE DESERVES TO BE !!!!!!! PLEASE

All this press for someone who people think was a hero. HEROS are the men and women who give their lives for this country. Jackson is not one of them.

The likes of "Reverend" Sharpton characterize Jackson's success as "breaking down the door" of prejudice in the music entertainment arena. The door was not broken down. The door was open when he arrived. White people bought his records because they liked his work. To suggest his success was a grand and difficult accomplishment is more of the BS we've come to expect from the likes of the African-American hierarchy and their followers. Have they forgotten the great balck entertainers like Johhny Mathis, Sammy Davis, Louis Armstrong and countless others. By the way, white people made them rich as well with their purchases.

To Jpbrand1978; You said In honor of Wacko Jacko's death itv is mandetory that all children wear their pants at half mast ! Welll, you know what? They were all already doing that all over the counrtry long before He died !!! They walk down the middle of the street in packs of 8 or more just like a pack of wild stray dogs , instead of using the sidewalks like NORMAL people do, with their tousers/pants belted right below their buttocks showing the world their silk and shiny cotton polyester boxer shorts ! I guess their parents don't give a damn when it comes to teaching their black brats decency and manners and obeying the Law and having respect ! It's actions and mannerisms like that , that make me and most white people dislike them and have No respect towards the younger Black generation { under 25 yoa }

If they gave this much TV coverage for every child molester, there wouldn't be anything else on.

Type your own comThere are two things that don't "fit" in MJ's fight against sex with children. One, this guy could get any girl in the world yet he never really had any solid relationship with women. Two, he always stayed close to certain boys but then brushed them to the side when they got a little older. These are certainly suspect. But you can't rule out the fact that he was rich and that too will bring out the animal in anyone looking for some easy $.ment here
