Math Question logic, not really fancy math stuff?

three men go into a hotel and want to stay the night, the clerk says it costs $30 so they each give him $10. A few minutes after they go to their room he realizes that there is a special today and the room only costs $25 so he gives the extra $5 to the bellboy and tell him to give it back to the men. on the way up in the elevator the bellboy realizes that it will be very hard to split $5 between three people so he decides to pocket $2 and give $1 back to each man. so he does. now each man has paid $9. $9x$3 is $27 plus the $2 that the bellboy took is $29 where is the extra $1?

The way the question is set up, or the puzzle is set up, confuses the person.
When the hotel pays the bellboy 5 back, the total is 5 + 25=30 for the room.

When the hotel boy pays 1 to each man and keeps two himself, the total is 1+1+1+2+25 = 30

When you add up the final..each man pays 9 to the hotel. so the men in total have paid 9+9+9 = 27 dollars to THE HOTEL

Now this THE HOTEL consists of the bell boy and the clerk money. Which is 2+25 = 27

What's missing. 3 dollars. Those 3 dollars are with the men.
