Crash Survivors Recount Scary Scene

(June 23) - Moments after a Metro train rear-ended a stationary one in Washington, D.C., a handful of passengers in the most mangled car were thrust into a nightmarish scenario full of blood and twisted metal.

The Washington Post described their reactions to Monday evening's rush-hour crash.

"It happened so quick," 17-year-old Brianna Milstead, who was in that first car of the doomed Red Line train, told the newspaper. "The floor smushed up. It was lifted up. I saw the debris flying toward me. I was choking on the smoke."

Dave Bottoms, a 39-year-old Anglican priest who was in the back of the front car, told the Post the buckling train looked like something out of a movie. "It felt like it was going in slow motion," he said. "I started praying."

Officials said the Red Line train struck the second one with such force that its first car was thrown on top of the other train; an investigation into what caused the incident is under way.

In the chaotic period after the collision, the newspaper said, people moved quickly to help their fellow passengers, making tourniquets out of T-shirts for some of the wounded and pulling debris off others.

While rescue workers made their way to the scene, some nearby residents who heard the loud crash also gravitated to the derailment.

"The folks were beating on the windows, trying to get out. I saw some of them on their cellphones. You can tell they didn't know what was going on, but they knew something had happened," Jervis Bryant told the Post. "They were just scared."

can one of you jesus freaks explain how this god thing works? you pray when you want him to help you out of a tough situation but he obviously doesnt help everyone, like the little boys that your priests rape... and that's not very godly so either he's not much of a god or you waste your time with this whole praying thing... sorry for being logical but i just dont get it
