Hey all,
I am currently a v.light shade of blonde but I want to take it up to a white blonde. I managed to bring my hair from black to blonde in the last couple of months and its still in great condition. When I went to the hairdressers she barely lightened it and it cost me a bomb: i did a better job myself to that point! So i guess what I'm asking is how do I do this myself because the hairdressers cost a bomb and never seem to get it right for me... How do I go white blonde? x

Bleach?

but if you want platinum blonde then just use a platinum toner.

I usually get foils, but I got mine platinum once, and rather than using foils, she just bleached my whole head. I don't usually use toner till a few weeks after because it usually makes my roots look more obvious, but toner will take it up to white blonde.

Yeah bleaching is the only way to get the white blonde thing. But youll have lots of yellowy bits in so when you get as light as you want it stop bleaching and get some Special effects hair dye in the 'mixer' colour. Its designed to take out all the yellow tone sin your hair and leave it a pure white blonde. its pretty amazing. The manic panic ones arent really very good anymore, they just make ur hair blue lol.:/

Youll need 2 of them for longer hair. Its reqally fab and wont damage your hair any further after bleaching. I used it when i used to be blonde:

Woa your hair looks nice that colour bt v.different Jadey, is your hair naturally light or dark? Thinking of getting mine taken lighter but it's vv.dark brown so don't want to trash it.

Well im italian so my cosmo picture is my natural hair colour so its quite dark! :) I have these phases i go through keep going back blonde. i should really stop lol

Lol when you go back to dark is it permanent dye you use? Mine's Salon permanent but I'm a bit worried bout how hard lifting the colour will be... and when you've been blonde have you had it done at the hairdressers or ventured it yourself? I'm thinking hairdressers is the safe bet for me lol.

I go to an aveda salon to have my hair done, not sure what the dark shade is called but yes its a permanent dye :)
Well the first time i went blonde like my pic above i did go to the salon and it cost me a small fortune lol. Since then whenever i want to go blonde i always get myself some packs of RUSK elimin8 colour corrector to take out the dye from my hair and then i go to the hairdressers for the colour!:) Really easy stuff to use, isnt a bleach, it just breaks down all the dye in your hair and removes it without changing your natural hair colour!

the toner is what gets rid of yellow tones. its blue or purple based and will only turn your hair blue if you leave it on too long.
