① Family tree of Namyang Hong, or Hong family of Namyang. The table does not include the illegimate son Gil-Dong and records only Il-Dong and Gui-Dong as sons of Sang-Jik Hong.
② Family registration issued in Joseon Dynasty. It recorded the direct family as well as maternal family and wife's family. Sometimes it was misused as a method to inspect the entering of illegimate offsprings into government official positions.

③ A record of noble families during the 1920, recording main persons according to family names. In Manseongdaedongbo, Hong Gil-Dong is recorded as a son of Sang-Jik Hong with older brother Il-Dong, and is described as "a person who played magical arts".
