5. Posting TV Clips to YouTube
Yep, copyright applies here, too. Though checking YouTube for that 'Saturday Night Live' skit from last weekend is convenient and fun (and perhaps even good for the show), TV networks can request that anything posted gets pulled. On the bright side, YouTube's owner (Google) now has agreements with some networks to make clips or even whole shows and movies available. And the networks themselves offer more and more of their programming online. One bizarre (and gray) area, though, is using copyrighted material, like a song, in your own videos. YouTube's Content ID System has zapped a lot of these pieces, though it's debatable if they are all copyright infringements.
