DK EngineeringFerrari Daytona - best colour combination
The Feature car of Octane magazine no.14
The Ferrari Daytona (correctly named the 365 GTB/4) is a Gran Turismo automobile produced from 1968 to 1973. It was first introduced to the public at the Paris Auto Salon in 1968 and replaced the 275GTB/4 but, although it was also a Pininfarina design, the Daytona was radically different. Its sharp-edged styling resembled a Lamborghini more than a traditional Pininfarina Ferrari. The Daytona name commemorates Ferrari's triple success in the February 1967 24 Hours of Daytona with the 330P4. This RHD example we have on offer was ordered in May 1972 and supplied by Ian Anthony (sales) Ltd in May in March 1973 to its first owner finished in Blue Dino Metallizzato with Beige leather. The car also featured electric windows and the rare option of air conditioning. The car has been subjected to a full restoration during its life as well as a retrim to tan leather. Added to this the car has also been equipped with power steering. During 2003 the car was subjected to a full engine rebuild and a major service. The car is in excellent condition throughout. An extensive history file with many invoices and MOT's right through to the early 1980's accompanies the car. The odometer displays 48,000 miles have been covered by the vehicle from new.
