If you haven't watched it and you have Comcast on Demand, watch it. It's under the Sundance channel. An Asia Extreme movie. It's really weird and i'm not going to post anything about it other than everyone is crazy and it has Rain in it (for the people who love Bi). Very funny, twisted, and light hearted, mostly.
Anyways, week 1 of extensions has passed. Gotten used to them, and rearranged some strands. For those interested in micro link extensions, I'm going to put up a table.
Micro-link extensions
| Pros | Cons |
| - easy to install yourself - looks very natural-- more than wefts or wigs - moves well with your own hair - blends very easily with own hair - easy to fix/adjust yourself - lasts a long time -reusable -links do not rust -minimal damage to hair -easy to take care of - easy to style (if it's human hair) | - time-consuming to install - need to check on links occassionally to see if they slipped (rare) - time-consuming to remove - slightly uncomfortable to sleep on - makes washing hair more difficult - not for fine hair (links stresses fine hair) - need to brush hair throughout day (this is only for longer hair) - can't dye hair with extensions in place - shock at seeing all the hair that hasn't been able to shed |
Also, the last sunny day after my car was cleaned, I realized that I didn't wash it as well as I thought I did. Oh well, I guess that's why I need to clay bar it. For those who don't know what clay bar is, it's for detailing the car. You spray a cleaning lubricant onto the car, then rub this kneading-eraser like substance over the lubricant and it takes off all the dirt, water marks, etc that can't be removed by simply washing. After clay baring, you wax the car. It takes a ridiculous amount of time, but the results are worth it, especially if you have a black car.
And omg it's March. Last month of school! Time to crunch down, Anne! We can do it! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
I have a lot to look forward to when the quarter ends. :3
Been trying to eat healthier, and I've been sleeping more. So far, this meant eating sandwiches or proper restaurant foods that aren't fried. I think as a result I'm starting to crave more sweet foods like strawberries with pudding, which is actually quite odd for me.
Molly looks like she's due for a haircut soon. We've been trying to train her on and off, and so far she seems to be more patient about feeding. She's actually quite big for her size, which doesn't make us love her less but I wish I was bigger too :(. Maybe it's because I didn't eat enough when I was young, but Molly certainly inhales everything else except her kibble.
I am completely in love with Paris Baguette's shrew bread with fruit and cream. Slightly sweet, with a fresh cream and strawberry filling. The strawberries are so delicious with the bread... Generally I prefer Korean bakeries over Chinese ones because the breads and pastries have a lighter texture, and in my opinion, are yummier. Eating Paris Baguette breads are really nostalgic... I remember eating the breads in Korea and I was so sad that there weren't any in America. Luckily, there is ONE in Norcal, really close to Mountain View, and one in Queens, when I go back for school. Be sure to visit it if you're in the area. Also, check out the Korean markets in that same area. Paris Baguette is also doing their version of a rewards program (that's free!), so be sure to take advantage of that!
Recently I've added extensions in my hair. The hair itself is 100% human hair, which makes the hair itself look completely natural and not plastic-ey under strong lighting, and blends okay with my hairstyle. I look like I have the longer version of the Asian mullet, which I'm fine with. I've been wearing my hair straight, but I'll try curling it when I have more time. It's really interesting having extension, and is nothing like wearing a wig. I don't really have any fear of my extensions falling out, but it was rather time-consuming attaching each strand, and I have a mildly difficult time washing, brushing, drying, and sleeping on my hair. Maintenance isn't that bad. I now carry a hairbrush with me to periodically brush out the tangles, and I wash my hair every other day (but washing my bangs every day). The only thing I have to say is that next time I'll want some help attaching hair, and that I really noticed how thin my hair is (not that it was ever thick). I'm hoping that the extensions will help motivate me to grow my hair to the target length, which is about 22 inches. I'm thinking about dabbling in other methods of hair extensions, such as wefts, but I think I'll save those for when I go to Manhattan, since I saw many hair supply stores with cheap, good quality human hair on 6th Avenue (or was it 8th? 7th?) on the way down to Union Square. I'm sure at least ONE will still be there.
I can't wait for the quarter to be over. Four more weeks!
I now officially can't wear a size 4... because of my boobs. I bought the shirt in a size 6, so it fits fine at the chest, but at the waist it's too friggin' baggy. I think I'm either going to take them to a tailor to take it in a little bit more and move the dart up higher in the front so that it fits under my boobs better, or do them myself, or return and buy the one from Express, since that one will fit my chest and waist for sure.
It's funny. I never thought I would have this problem. I guess it comes from being older... Somehow I feel okay with it, but at the same time I'm a little bit sad because I'm not the same as I used to be before. I look at my younger pictures, and I realize that my face has changed shape along with my body shape.
Trying to think of characters that have below waist length black hair, and if I want to keep my blue-black hair or if I want a natural black hair. Right now I'm really digging the blue-black, but maybe it looks like too much. My classmates seem to like it though, since it looks really clean, but I dunno... Like I said, I ordered human hair extensions (in brown-black) that need to be attached using micro bead technique, so I'm going to have a LOT of hair for a couple of months.
I'm going to have to change my default picture soon, seeing that I'm no longer a blonde. -_-
Lately I've been seeing more and more Asians who've been wanting to bleach their hair an EXTREMELY white blonde on their own, as opposed to going to the salon.
I am not a professional, and I don't really recommend doing hair on your own unless you know what you're doing, and know what to expect. You need to know your own hair and how it will react to bleach.
Blonde is also very high maintenance, and depending on your style, you will need to redo roots every two-four weeks for it not to look trashy (unless you like that look). White blonde does not look good on all Asians. Adjust to your skintone. Mine is very light and not very yellow toned.
( NOW on to the steps! )
Part two will be the steps, and part three will be maintenance and root touch up.
It was supposed to be light ash brown. I think I like it.
My brother says it's the color of poo when you've eaten too much beef. Whatever.

So Sunday morning bright and early I stuck on some turquoise. Left it in for a few minutes.
I think I'll redo it.
Went through some old pictures. It made me want my pink hair back. Also made me want black hair again. DID not make me want a red-brown EVER again. Or that half-assed blonde.
So now I'm thinking. I really do like the blonde, and I get buttloads of compliments on the color on me, but honestly it's been a while since I had it, and it is the biggest pain in the butt to maintain. I know my hair will eventually end up colored black (since that is the easiest color for me to maintain and grow out).
I like the idea of dark red, bright blue, and bright pink. I have a wig... So natural isn't an issue. I kind of have the feeling that if I do pink, the dark red won't cover it, so I'm not sure what color path I should take. Also, there is an issue about how compatible the colors are with my haircut... But maybe I'm paranoid.

EDIT: Maybe I should keep the blonde. But I'm scared that constantly bleaching my roots will damage my scalp and my hair will be less willing to grow.A poll
What color should I do? If I do a funky color, then I always have a wig to fall back on. This will be done at my next bleaching in two-three weeks. :D
Bright pink!
Baby pink
Red
Stay blonde D:
Light brown
Black

My cousin (from San Ramon) came over to briefly visit today. He's not a young guy. He has kids, and is a real estate agent. He looked at my hair and was like "what happened... why is it so grey?!"
Yea. :D
I just remembered that I have a wig lying around, so tomorrow if I'm lazy, I'm going to just wear that to orientation, instead of styling my hair (I flip the ends out, so it kinda look like Yuna's (FF) or Asuka's (Tekken) hair). Except silver-gray.
SHIT. Silvery-gray IS a natural hair color, right?
I'll find out what the discount is. 30%? I don't remember.
This Friday I have orientation.
Anyways, today I rebleached my roots and dyed it ash blonde again. I left the dye in too long, so my hair looks pretty grayish, but I like it. Interestingly enough, dying it made my hair look healthier and shinier. Probably because the dye molecules got sucked into my dry hair and smoothed the shaft out. I'll use a glosser later tonight to maximize the effect.
( Hair pictures. )
Express called me today to let me know that they're still processing my application. I have no idea what that means, but I have another thing as a backup that pays more, but has significantly less hours as a personal assistant to an engineer.
I also called the dermatologist to set up an appointment for my acne, and called up FIT about readmission into the school (for those who don't know what happened, it's a long, painful, retarded, and embarrassing story).
So today was kind of productful.

I want to change colors again.
Maybe purple or blue. Something that will fade quickly and bleach out nicely.
Maybe I should wait. I really really really love the blonde.
So I bleached my roots, and now my hair looks so light. :)
This time, I bought the usual Quick Blue instead of the Kaladeoscope bleach I have. Dear lord, now I regret using the latter, because the Quick Blue processed my roots to a pale orange in one go, instead of a bright orange like the other one. I'll have to process once more to get to a platinum.
I might forego using the toner for a little bit, because I'm enjoying the pale yellow/platinum. It lifted more of the pink out. My hair feels fine, since I only did the roots, and the bleach was only pulled through my hair, creating a sort of soap cap.
I think my sister misses the pink hair. I'll get there, once I get tired of the blonde.
Anyways, over Thanksgiving I went to my cousin's house down in LA and after eating we chilled. Then we went shopping on Friday. The mall was crazy. I went into Express, and even though I found things I liked, it was getting late and the line was still long, so I decided to hold off until the new season's clothes come out. I also looked out for a cute purse and some leather heeled boots, but neither one popped up.
Today I went shopping again with my little sister, and realized that I've stopped picking out black. Now, I'm picking out gray. All the shirts that were coming into the dressing room with me were gray. And tunic-ey. And made me realize that I should buy some leggings to go with the tunic-ey shirts. And some nicer boots.
Yesterday when I woke up, I wasn't feeling good for some unknown reason. I didn't realize it at the time, but it did affect how I dressed. I didn't even want to bother.
Then I ran into Anne after class and even though we saw each other for a short time and talked about shoes, when I left I was cheered up immensly.
On other news, I went to my hair dresser and got a haircut. It's short! It makes me look kind of like a Final Fantasy character and now I totally want to keep it blonde.

While is miss the pink, I'm really liking the blonde too. I even bleached my eyebrows so that they're more a brown instead of black/gray.
I always hear debates over if Asians can pull off blonde or not. Either yes, it looks nice and classy, no, it looks terrible, or no, looks trashy.
I do have my own opinions about Asians + blonde, and I've decided that blonde isn't really for everyone. Skin tone plays a big factor, as well as how you do makeup, your hair style, hair quality, and how you dress. Admittedly, I prefer white-blonde on more innocent, cute/pretty girls, or rocker-chick, as opposed to sexy or other girls who aren't "cute" (like, you can't be pretty, you have to be cute too). I dislike yellow, but hey, if it's your style, can't say anything about it. I don't think it has much to do with attitude, but how you execute it.
Blonde is also extremely difficult to deal with. I already need to bleach my roots, and my hair got so damaged that it requires pampering everyday. If you can't take care of it, then it gets nasty very quickly. I myself use deep conditioners, protein packs, and a violet shampoo to keep it a nice ashy blonde. Now it's soft and manageable. Bleachable, even.
I might want to keep this look a while. Most of my clothes are black, so the blonde softens everything and looks sort of pretty and young and dramatic. With white clothes, it looks really angelic. :D We'll see how it goes.
What are your opinions?
Anyways, yesterday my RE Practices (real estate Practice) class let out early, so I went out and bought some nail polish and hair glosser.
NAILS
I know that it's not popular to paint nails opaque white anymore (seeing that the trend was the year before last's spring), but I dunno, I tend to pick up on some trends late. I like it lots, and I think it really shows off the hands nicely (and I do think I have nice hands). Now they have a bit of a pink tone to them, because I washed my hair, and light nail polishes will pick up stains, but it's still a very pretty, pale pink.
Plus, I like the idea of white nails in winter. Reminds me so much of the snow queen. I think white in winter is awesome, as long as you keep everything covered up and on the heavier side (no chiffon!).
I do understand though that some people have an aversion to white nail polish, because it reminds them of white out. While I do understand that, I've also realized that if you can pull it off, then you can pull it off. It's like skinny jeans in that way (omg I love skinnies).
HAIR GLOSSER
I bought this at Sally's for a little less that $5. I tried it on today, since my hair has been getting crazy dry and more tangly, since it's getting longer and thinner from growing it out plus the intensive bleaching to platinum. I've been using a glossing mist to add more moisture, but I wanted something more. I tried this out this morning while I was in my shower (just a quickie!), and when I finished, I was pretty amazed. My hair actually dried quicker, and was softer and more manageable, even at the tips where it felt super rough. It was like a miracle. When I straightened my hair, there were no coarse bits. Just smoothy smooth hair.
Even while watching the Blue Angels at the wharf with the wind whipping around (and withstanding the mini sonic boom that caused many cars around me to sound their alarms because a plane decided to fly extra low), my hair did not tangle or become fluffy, but stayed sleek.
I'm addicted!

In other news... I have a bottle of Virgin Rose that needs a new home! I think I used 3/4 or so of the bottle.
And shopping news... yesterday I went shopping with my little sister, and she got.... BLACK SKINNY JEANS from Love Culture (in the Great Mall). They're so cute, and have a little crystal skull and crossbones outline in the butt pocket. Interestingly enough, the skinny jeans helped make her hips look bigger, so it balanced out the wideness of her shoulders. Since her butt actually is proportional to her height, there is no cone effect that can sometimes happen.
Oaggin is finally developing her style, and by shopping and picking out clothes for her, I've been able to gauge what she likes and looks good in, and learn a little more about dressing the more athletic figure.
And another thing... Victoria Secret can't measure out bra sizes for pee. Every time they recommend a size to me, the bra band is way too big, and it's been reinforced with my sister, where both cup and band sizes were too big. This is while she is wearing her correct bra size too. Weird. But then again, everyone is different.
