The leader of a free nation that did not attack the U.S.A. is killed by the U.S.A. and its backers, then 2,000,000 of his countrymen are made homeless, another 60,000 killed, another 300,000 lose limbs, a half-million are made religious refugees, and the U.S.A. ends up putting the same people who worked for the leader in charge of the millions. Sounds like a win - win.
