Let's play with makeup today.

( Ganguro LOL )
Shitty makeup to go with a shitty day. It was really fun and quick doing the makeup though.

It has come to my attention that I don't have a disclaimer.
So fine, I'm making one. It's on my main page.
There.
Another point I would like to make is that everyone can pull off any color. However, it really depends on what shade you choose. Sometimes you can't pull off lighter colors, or you can't pull off darker ones. Sometimes you can pull off the entire rainbow and all the shades to go with it, which I have yet to see in person but I would like to. The color you look good in depends on your skin tone. That's all there is to it.
And now I have to do my American Art history homework... two essays?!?... and man there's sooooooo much reading... it's USHAP all over again. -_-
( So this isn't all text... )

- Mood:
bitchy
Bought 12 pigments for about $30, which is a bit steep but now I know better. Tried out the turquoise color, mixed with hot pink and copper to tone it down. I could have done a better job, but this is the first time I've used color, so I tried something more showy.

My look for work today:
( I kind of remind myself of Princess Ai )
My hair wouldn't curl correctly so it came out sort of messy-ish. It's my fault for sleeping on wet hair though.
And as for eye makeup, I had no energy to really think of anything creative to do, so it was the plain old thick eyeliner look today.

deadsilent since I just saw your post today. I'll try it out... or maybe you can do it for me when I see you at FIT.
( And a random outfit )
Random is random. I found the shirt and just resized it and added sleeves. I guess it's not really my style but it's something fun to wear.

Since yesterday there was a mix up in orientation (I was supposed to come in NEXT Friday... they left me a message) I decided to write another makeup tutorial.
This one is also for the monolids.
( Cut here to save space )
I also found another really good makeup tutorial for monolidders.
Pink eye makeup
I think I'll try it out and tell you my interpretation some other time.

So I finally got unlazy and went ahead and did a quick and dirty tutorial for a natural eye for monolids.

There's something about watching a movie with a central female character, and having a slight crush on the supporting male character, who is a swash-buckling gentleman that makes me feel girly.
Speaking of which, a makeup tip for those who don't like to put on much makeup, yet want to look more girly and feminine: pink blush.
I always wear pink blush because it brightens up my face and at the same time makes it look cute and delicate, because sometimes pale skin with olive undertones can look dull and sallow and one-dimensional without some color.
I prefer blush over lip gloss because I feel that lip gloss, especially glosses that younger women prefer (lip glass), accentuates dull skin and uneven skin tones more so than lip stick or a natural lip. The shininess and smoothness just shows the contrast between lips and skin. Blush, on the other hand, brings subtle color to the face without adding shine, so there is no emphasis on difference of skin texture.
My favorite way to do full-face makeup, with emphasis on cheeks, is to apply some light pink eyeshadow, white eyeshadow at the brow bone, dust some violet eyeshadow at the lash line, pearl white eyeshadow at the inner corners and lower lashes, mascara (three coats, two of lengthening, one waterproof), and chapstick, or maybe pink lipstick if I'm going out. It's very cute, light, and works well for ama-loli if you add some circle lenses.
Otherwise, it's a good choice for a fresh-faced look, and works extremely well on Asian faces.
