Pros: It does download Bittorrent in a fair rate and I'll post pictures to proove it. On my poor 512 Kbps connection I get an average download rate of 55KBps, full power!I can access it through the internet very easily with a free domain name. ex: whatever.isasecret.com
Cons: I attatched a 1TB disk to it and to manage my 30000 mp3 collection, more than 100GB files, and it got a little bit slow to browse files through the explorer window. In other cases, such as to browse documents and pictures, it performed reasonably well
Other Thoughts:
Bottomline: For sure it was one of the best buys I made here on DealExtreme! I recommend it =)
Pros: 2 USB port for optimal usage. you can have 1 with HD and 1 with printer or 2 HDs. You can't find a NSA for this price. Works with HP P1006 which is the low end of HP laserjet. uPNP works great. I can stream videos from this to my PS3 as Media Server easily.
Cons: Torrent is too slow. It goes around 4~5kb/s only. Same 700mb popular torrent took my computer 1~2 hours but took around 24 hours on this. Restarting time is a little longer than most wireless router.
Bottomline: You will need to know what you are doing. I bought hoping it will work as a torrent client so I don't need to leave my computer on at night. But a cheap Atom computer will probably do a better job. Nevertheless, it serves great as a NAS/SAMBA and the bonus as uPNP server that works great with PS3.
Pros: works right out of the box (unless you need an US adapter, which I happened to have). Great web interface. Very simple. Admin can create user accounts with varying degrees of privileges.
Cons: No scheduler for bittorrent client. Non-US power supply. Some things got a little lost in translation, but it's not hard to figure out what it means.
Other Thoughts: It's got very bright, pretty blue lights. Goes well with the blue LEDs on my HDD enclosures.
Bottomline: Very cheap and easy way to add a NAS to your network.I like it. I love it. I want some more of it!Best quality I've seen coming from China.
Pros: - Built quality is ok- Much smaller than i thought
Cons: - Network cable inside the pack seems to be a crossover. So i needed to buy a normal one.- The torrent client is too simple and with few options (you can't choose wich torrent's files you want to download, for example)- The torrent download is unstable (download rates's too much oscillation and sometimes stops downloading)- Manual is not included (get it through the link in one of the posts)
Other Thoughts: I haven't tested yet:- FTP server- Media share- USB printer communicationIn other words, i've just checked the torrent download :P
Bottomline: I bought it for torrent downloads. So i'm just partially satisfied. I'm waiting for a software/firmware update to solve the download rate and client problems listed above.PS.: Sorry my bad english :P
