Adobe and Microsoft apps are not priced for the recession. The $150 that Microsoft charges for its Office suite could feed a laid-off banker for two frugal weeks. But free-or super-cheap-options abound. In place of MS Office, you can use OpenOffice or Google Docs gratis. You can also swap the free Gimp image editor for that $650 (!) copy of Photoshop.
