With HDTV come more choices, and with more choices come more wires -- snaking from cable boxes, disc players and game consoles to your flat screen. But all TVs made in the past few years (and many computer monitors) feature HDMI ports that only require a slender digital cable instead of a handful of analog wires. Retailers charge a fortune for HDMI cables, though, so shop online. If a six-footer costs much more than $15, it's a rip-off.
