How does Tsuyoshi's arrest make international news? There are several reason, some stated by Scottishwish22. SMAP is more then just a boyband. They are also actors in popular movies and television shows, they do commercials, and most importantly have several television talk shows. Their show SMAP Bistro is a popular stop even for such actors as Tom Cruise, Will Smith, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
