Last.fm Playlists

When a Last.fm playlist is created it is populated with tracks. These can be played once, and only in order. Old tracks are automatically removed, and when the number of tracks drops to three, more tracks are retrieved from Last.fm and added to the end of the playlist.

The playlists are remembered when foobar2000 is restarted, and will be re-populated when they are selected.

The component supports album art for tracks played from Last.fm (when using the default UI; third party album art components are not guaranteed to work).

Before you can start listening to Last.fm radio stations you must enter a valid username and password in the preferences page.

The Last.fm Radio preferences page.

Preferences Page

The Last.fm Radio preferences page is found under the Tools branch of the foobar2000 preferences dialog. It allows you to enter your Last.fm account credentials, and set-up your favourite stations.

On occasion, tracks have no album art, and in this case the image entered in the Album Art field will be displayed.

When opening new stations, the default behaviour is for a new playlist to be created dedicated to that station. If the Playlists checkbox is checked however, a single Last.fm playlist is reused for all stations.

We all have favourite artists or genres, and for easy access any custom Last.fm radio station can be added to the favourites list. Your favourites appear under the 'File/Open Last.fm Radio Station' main-menu (and fully support keyboard shortcuts).

The Last.fm Radio custom station dialog.

Adding Favourite/Custom Stations

Clicking 'Add new' from the preferences page, or selecting the 'File/Open Last.fm Radio Station/Open a custom station...' main-menu command, presents you with the custom station dialog. This allows you to add or open any allowed Last.fm radio station, including arbitrary lastfm:// URLs using the 'custom' option.

The dialog recalls previous entries.
