SUBWAY SERIES
The Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium (foreground) were separated by the Harlem River and were only a 10¢ subway ticket apart. During the many years the two storied stadiums co-existed, the Yankees beat the Giants in the "Subway Series" every time: in 1923, 1936, 1937, and 1951. The Giants vanquished their American League rivals in the 1921 and 1922 World Series, when the teams shared the Polo Grounds.
