What is Xunlei(Thunder)?

XunLei(Thunder) is another type of multi-resource-based Hyper-Threading technology of download software. Tweaking Xunlei - 迅雷 - Thunder Guide:

There are several ways where you can tweak Xunlei 迅雷 for better download speed. The things that you can do to speed up your Thunder Xunlei download speed are as following:


1. Port Forwarding the ports that stated in your xunlei for both TCP and UDP. To see what’s your TCP and UDP ports are of your Xunlei, go to Tools and then Options, go to BT/Port Setting and look for the ports(the words are in chinese). For guide of port forwarding, visit www.portforward.com.

2. Uncheck "Allow uPnP Function" under the same place(Tools -> Options -> BT/Port Setting).

3. Set your upload speed below the speed you can get. For example, if your package support 512kbps of upload speed, set it to 40-45kb/s (Tools>Options>Connection>>Speed>>Limit Upload Speed).

4. DOWNLOAD ONE FILE AT A TIME. This is the most obvious tweak. You may see a great change of speed after you stop a several tasks and let only one of them run it.

5. Since it work as a http header, some people claim that forwarding port 80, 8080 and 21 are the best because there is no other http browser using ports beside these 3 ports. I personally don’t feel any differences of this tweak.

6. If you are using Windows XP, set your TCP half open connection to around 100 (100Mbps/Half Duplex) so that more connections are allowed to connect through your pc (From Netcard, open: Option>Configure>Advanced).

XunLei Thunder 5 No Ads Guide:
You just need to modify 2 files, UserConfig.ini at "C:\Program Files\Thunder Network\Thunder\Profiles" and gui.cfg at "C:\Program Files\Thunder Network\Thunder\Program".

How to install Xunlei Translation Files:
1. Unzip the downloaded file.
2. Copy it to the languages folder: eg. C:\Program Files\Thunder\Languages
4. Start Thunder/Xunlei
5. Click the third option, 查看(V)
6. Language, then click the version of translation that you wish to use: eg. EN_v1.3

Đó là công cụ download băng thông rộng không những hỗ trợ http hoặc ftp, mà nó còn được sử dụng để tải giao thức BitTorrent và Emule (Nói chung là mạng chia sẻ P2P). Hướng dẫn cài đặt gói ngôn ngữ English cho XunLei 5:
1. Tải file về và giải nén.
2. Sao chép nó vào thư mục ngôn ngữ Thunder:
Ví dụ: C:\Program Files\Thunder\Languages
3. Chạy Thunder/Xunlei
4. Bấm vào tùy chọn thứ ba: 查看(V)
5. Sau đó, chon Language và chọn English (US)
6. Xong.

Một Vài Thủ Thuật Giúp Tăng Tốc Độ Tải File Của Thunder:

- Thêm 1 cổng chuyển tiếp(Port Forwarding) trong Thunder cho TCP và UDP(Tools -> Options -> BT/Port Setting->)(Nếu bạn không am hiểu về điều này thì hãy để ở chế độ mặc định).

- Mỗi lần tải chỉ 1 -2 file thôi để tốc độ được ổn định.

- Bỏ chọn "Allow uPnP Function" trong phần thiết lập của Thunder (Tools -> Options -> BT/Port Setting->).
- Thiết lập tốc độ Uload theo tốc độ ADSL hiện thời mà bạn có. Ví dụ, nếu gói cước hiện thời của bạn hỗ trợ tốc độ tải lên 512kbps, thì hãy đặt nó vào 40-45kb/s (Tools>Options>Connection>>Speed>>Limit Upload Speed).

- Nếu bạn đang sử dụng Windows XP(Trong Vista thì mình không rõ thiết lập này có hiệu quả hay không), thiết lập TCP kết nối mở một nửa (TCP half open connection)(Vào Option>Configure>Advanced của Card mạng để thiết lập) với khoảng "100Mbps/Half Duplex" cũng góp phần cải thiện tốc độ tải file cho Thunder.
