riedel_japanesque RIEDEL— one of the world’s oldest family-run wine glass maker—will re-open its Aoyama flagship store, RIEDEL WINE BOUTIQUE, on April 1st, allowing customers to experience spot wine glass tasting at its bar-counter or in a private room, depending on the group size.

To mark this special occasion, RIEDEL will launch a limited edition of its popular Tyrol brand that is used onboard the Orient Express in the UK, with a Japanese touch, aptly named “Japanesque,” which has a red and black bottom to match Japanese tableware. On sale from April 1, 2009.

Hurry! Only 100 sets produced; cost ¥7,350 (two glasses, including tax).

Witness Scuba Diving 43 Meters Above Ginza!
A daring event to celebrate the launch of two new hotels and resorts in Okinawa sony_bldg1

InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, is celebrating the launch of two new properties at Manza and Ishigaki, Okinawa. The celebrations will kick off this week with live aerial acrobatics at the Sony Building, Ginza (MAP). The flying performances, simulating diving in Okinawa’s tropical seas, will feature a scuba diver and a hotel concierge suspended from the top of the building at a height of 43m.There will be six 7-minute performances daily (weather permitting) from March 26-29.

It will be a great opportunity to take off-beat photos of the acrobats in full scuba gear and concierge’s uniform. There will also be an opportunity to chat with InterContinental Hotels’ concierges from Tokyo and Okinawa who are eager to demonstrate their local expertise.
