Django Reversion

Very cheep way to have an undo button on any object in a Django project. Every project should have this installed in my opinion. I've never understood why "undo" isn't a more prevalent UI feature on the web.

'Star Wars' scientists create laser gun to kill mosquitoes

"The laser, which has been dubbed a "weapon of mosquito destruction" fires at mosquitoes once it detects the audio frequency created by the beating of its wings."

Um, it's about time! I'd like to see every coffee house and bar in Lawrence with outdoor seating invest in this.

Newspapers and Thinking the Unthinkable

When someone demands to know how we are going to replace newspapers, they are really demanding to be told that we are not living through a revolution. They are demanding to be told that old systems won’t break before new systems are in place. They are demanding to be told that ancient social bargains aren’t in peril, that core institutions will be spared, that new methods of spreading information will improve previous practice rather than upending it. They are demanding to be lied to.

EventBox

Very impressive social aggregator app for OS X. For a beta the UI is solid and the idea is great. The HUD alone is worth it.

Wolfram Alpha is Coming -- and It Could be as Important as Google

Wolfram Alpha actually computes the answers to a wide range of questions -- like questions that have factual answers such as "What hemisphere is Timbuktu in?" or "How many protons are in a hydrogen atom?" or "What was the average rainfall in Seattle last month?," "What is the 300th digit of Pi?," "where is the ISS?" or "When was GOOG worth more than $300?"

This accounts for about half of the type of activity I use Google for. Want.
