• "A must-have"

The new version of this indispensable product doesn't introduce revolutionary changes, but it doesn't have to. As the low-end PDF reader, it simply keeps up with Acrobat Professional and Standard. This release adds the ability to play back embedded multimedia files in MP3, QuickTime, Macromedia Flash, Real, and Windows Media formats, as well as to submit Adobe PDF forms. It also replaces some of the icons in the default interface with optional, dockable toolbars. You might as well install this now before a Web site you visit prompts you to download it, because you'll need it.

  "Memory hog"

  Pros: Reads PDF of course but Foxit does it better.

  Cons: 155K is only the installer. The actual program is huge!

  Summary: This utility is listed under Maintenace & Optimization???

  "Running Vista 64bit - 9.1 would not install"

  Pros: Unable to install

  Cons: Could not install - do not know what it did better than ver 9.

  Summary: After ver 9.1 would not install, then ver 9 would not work. Went back to ver 8.1 and now have pdf reader back.

  "Good upgrade but some annoyances"

  Pros: I can't tell a difference between 9.x and 8.

  Cons: The Adobe AIR is really annoying, I have to go in and uninstall it from add/remove programs, is there not an option to download just the reader and not that extra garbage?

  "Confirmed IE exit problem with 9.1"

  Pros: Free. Opens PDF files.

  Cons: Bug in Adobe PDF Link Helper which is a Browser Helper Object that everytime I close my Internet Explorer 7 browser I receive an error pop up message. This still occurs even after uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 9.1 software.

  Summary: I can confirm that this is definitely 100% a problem with the Adobe PDF Link Helper which is a Browser Helper Object. The error problem occurs even after completely uninstalling Adobe Reader 9.1 and then reinstalling it.
