9. Install a new graphics card
If you're a gamer on a budget, then the second best investment you can make (after more RAM) is a new graphics card. Perfectly serviceable mid-range cards can be had from both ATI and Nvidia for about $150, and are usually pretty easy to install. Here's how:
- As you would do with RAM, open your PC and locate the old graphics card (if there is one) on your motherboard (the main and biggest circuit board in your PC).
- Make sure to unscrew the back panel and remove the old card.
- Put the new card in the slot and make any necessary cable connections (check the installation instructions).
- Run the included driver disc after you turn the PC back on.

I realize there's a link to a tutorial on how to remove an old graphics card and then install a new one, but your instructions on the blog itself are VERY lacking, and would invite someone to damage their PC. For starters, even the abbrivated instructions SHOULD tell the person to shut down their PC, unplug it and then hit the power on switch once or twice to make sure all the capicators on the motherboard, old graphics card and so forth are discharged. I won't continue to go into details, and I haven't read the tutorial so I won't comment on it, but the abbrivated instructions are a recipe for disaster.
