Provo police arrested a man who is suspected of beating his son with a golf club.
Police said they were contacted by the staff at Edgemont Elementary School. They reported a boy had several bruises on his arms and hands.
The boy told the staff that his father – Seok Hee Won – hit him with a golf club. He also said his older brother was hit with the club.
Provo police said they found injuries on both boys. Officers said Won indicated he disciplined the boys and that using a stick is a tradition in Korea.
An officer said the young boy has more than 12 bruises and was in pain.
Won was booked into the Utah County Jail on a second degree felony charge of child abuse.
