Miyu and a couple of friends from her schooldays run a site called Vanilla Beans. They were inspired to sell their soiled undergarments because they'd had so much success doing so when they were still students. "One of us is facing a situation where it's hard for her to get outside, so she was thinking of a part-time job she could do from home. Eventually, selling her knickers was the only thing she could come up with," Miyu tells Spa !, noting their site makes a healthy profit of 66,000 yen a month. "I know the most about computers, so I look after the technical side. We renewed the site in February. Two of my biggest fans are sponsoring the site. They pay for the clothes we buy and later sell and the server. Our operating costs are almost zero."

Yuria is not quite so lucky, footing out 80,000 yen each month to profit just as much from it. She makes her money from clothing sales, as well as by flogging footage of her in her birthday suit. "I never really intended to make a profit out of it, especially as so many people are doing the same sort of thing. I thought I'd be doing all right if I could sell enough to cover the costs of keeping the site going. I didn't sell a thing at first. Thinking back, the photos were pretty awful and I had no idea of where to take photos so they'd look at their most erotic." Money started trickling in when she accepted e-mail instructions from fans and posed according to their wishes. Now she films those poses and burns them onto a CD-ROM she sells.

Not everybody is getting a slice of the cheesecake, though. Hina, the operator of a site selling dirty movies of her various lusty encounters, still falls short of making ends meet even though her boyfriend takes care of the technical side of the site and covers its server costs. Though hardly profitable, Hina still has plenty of fun. "I'm the sort who's so shy, it's hard to get me to have a bath together with my boyfriend. But I think women are basically curious when it comes to things like S&M or threesomes. They like being asked where it feels good and like to try things they think might be a turn-on. That's the concept behind my site," Hina tells Spa !, adding that she comes up short by about 75,500 yen each month -- a cost she's more than willing to bear for the moment. "We run on a single server, so we get a complete log of who has accessed the site. We get data that lets us know exactly what sorts of movies or contents are popular. This site should provide practical information for when I start to run a real adult site some time in the future."
