Craftsman abuzz as he strives to give couples the ultimate pleasure

Shizumi Oyama is a unique kind of craftsman who aims to give adventurous couples good vibrations, according to Cyzo (September).

Oyama specializes in adapting vibrators and other adult aids to make them match what couples are looking for.

And he has little time for the battery operated adult toys already on the market.

"Regular vibrators all operate on ordinary batteries, so they're no good," Oyama tells Cyzo. "You get a vibrator out and use it over and over again on a woman until she's just about to climax and then the batteries run out on you, which takes all the fun out of it. And batteries don't give you enough power."

From his workshop in Osaka's Nishi Shinsaibashi, Oyama diddles with the adult aids, adding electrical current to existing vibrators so they no longer need to depend on batteries for power and can be used constantly for hours on end, or gradually adjusting controls to make the toys' affects more intense.

"I see it as my job to realize what's going on in my customers' imaginations," Oyama says. "I'm not making adult toys, I'm making adult tools."

Oyama counts an erection sensor as being among his creations based on customers' requests. Among his many original inventions are the Bone Throbbing-Style Vibrator, which pulsates the bones to produce sexual stimulation, the Kuriponpu, or clitoris pump that applies pressure to the most intimate part of a woman's most intimate part, and then what he calls the Super Pinpoint Vibrator, a vibrator topped with a fingernail-sized head that throbs in a circular motion at exceptionally high speeds on a concentrated area.

Oyama says the Super Pinpoint Vibrator brings 90 percent of women who use it to climax within just three minutes. The vibrator craftsman says that as well as helping couples looking for some added extras, his work could also assist those whose sex lives have become non-existent and need some spicing up before they can be brought back to life.

Oyama says he will continue to strive for climactic quality.

"All I want to do," he tells Cyzo, "is continue to make tools that will help couples in their pursuit of pleasure." (By Ryann Connell)
