Linux.com should have a dedicated home for people who is new to linux and interested in knowing more.

It should contain very easy to understand information about what linux is, where and how to get it (only the most popular distros) and where/how to get help.

A number of the ideas on this site are variations of one another. It would be useful to have some way of merging two ideas, or at least drawing a link between them. Perhaps something like Wikipedia's "It has been suggested that this article should be merged into..." template. Read More »
Manufacturers of hardware still default to proprietary operating systems. Petitions companies to give the options to sell O/S free products so users do not need to pay 'proprietary software tax'.
