TOKYO (AP) - Recently divorced Namie Amuro and the wild and wacky Rob Pongi have formally announced their engagement to each other in a Tokyo press conference yesterday. The couple declined to answer any questions and sped away in Pongi's new Ferrari, which many believe is Amuro's engagement present to him.
Amuro's camp had little to comment except 'It can't be helped' and 'That's just the way it is' while inhaling through clenched teeth.
Pongi's Public Relations office released the following: 'First of all, all of us here at RobPongi.com want to wish the best of luck and success to the new couple! Rob met Namie at Gas Panic in Roppongi just a few weekends ago. It was true love at first sight! Rob used his patented 'Grab and Dance' approach and Namie said she was overwhelmed with his 'gentle daring and boldness'. Rob said he was very impressed with her dancing skills, despite having no idea who she was at the time. 'I didn't even remember her first name when we woke up the next morning,' said Pongi. 'But I'll never stop loving her and her beautiful son.'
The destination of the couples' engagement celebration was not disclosed by either camp.

Rob Pongi-sama: you'd be better off getting engaged to Samu
:fresse: that's where all the money is! Amuro's career is stalled and you'll have to get rid of your Ferrari to pay the bills  Morning Musume is where it's at (or is that MiniMorning?, or Puchi Morning?, or.......?) :hehe:

The first thing she has to do is write a tell all book about the trials and tribulations of her marriage. But if that doesn't get people talking about her again, she could always go the nude coffee table book route, which seems to work so well here. It would also surely p*ss Sam's family off.
But on a more serious side, its pretty sad to see someone as young as Amuro said to be finished at the ripe old age of 26. Japan's entertainment industry sure does eat 'em up and spit 'em out, doesn't it. :(
