I'd like to request support for .ifo files.. specifically video_ts.ifo so that I can launch my dvd image directories :)
Also, how does this plugin deal with tags? Is any support provided for reading and/or writing tags from avi etc (I would assume not considering remuxing is such an intensive task)? -------------------- http://www.ubuntu.com

An even better way to deal with the issue would be to allow the user to add the support for any extension he wants. I assume it would be possible since the plugin only forwards the file to another app. This post has been edited by BlueScreenJunky: Jan 20 2007, 22:38 |

I'm idly curious what situation the poster and others use this in. I am unable to dream up any way in which this makes more sense than picking them out in explorer and putting them in a playlist in the video application you use.

This plugin not work on my PC (XP +SP2, check all video formats in mpc).
When I push "play button" on avi file - name of avi file appears in foobar title bar for one moment and it is all. |

The only reason i can see to use foobar to start playing videos would be to use its great possibilities of managment. That would mean following:
1. Something like a tag editor for videos but written only to database because not all file formats are taggable. I am thinking of a box where you can create own fields that are typical for videos (director, actor, ... ) and that can be used in media library viewers inside tagz scripts. 2. Masstagger/Massrenamer funcionality Then i would create a second install of foobar just for organizing videos. By the way: When i doubleclick a video file nothing happens although Media Player Classic is installed. |

As iTunes hides the files away in a random folder! |

Interesting. Rather than launching the default video player, would you consider a switch that would allow your plugin to set a path to Portable VLC (the switch could simultaneously enable support for any video format extensions VLC is able to play)?

I second the request to choose the video player path -------------------- Song List: keikoniumboards.ke.funpic.org/files/songlist.html

@2Pacalypse: Add Videofiles to your playlist then dubleclick
The standard media Player should open then. Some Requests: - Add Videoplayer path - more Videoextension support: .rm and .mov would be great Question: -Every Time I use this plugin Foobar shuts down. Is this the wanted behaviour? When yes: Request: Only make Foobar pause while playing video - Why is there no opportunity to configure this plug-in? Thanks for this plug-in Santa Sam The idea is really great |

-Every Time I use this plugin Foobar shuts down. Is this the wanted behaviour? When yes: Request: Only make Foobar pause while playing video Then you dbl-click on your video in playlist, plugin gets it path, stops playback and executes that path - very simple. It works stable for me since first version, so its hard to find bugs. BTW. I've made new build in full version of Visual Studio with some fixes in code. I should learn SDK more to make the config (will be 'extensions' and 'player path' fields) This post has been edited by Santa Sam: Jan 24 2007, 15:57 |

How can I made my wanted player default player? You can make it in preferences of that player, or associate wanted file extension with it - right-mouse-click in explorer -> open with -> choose application -> ..etc This post has been edited by Santa Sam: Jan 24 2007, 16:15 |

I just updated to the version 0.1.2 and there is a bit of a change. Instead of double clicking the file in my playlist and it doing nothing, I get my cursor changed so it has the hour glass beside it, but then nothing happens.
So in short, still doesn't work. My .avi files are associated with DivX player. I'm not to sure whats going on... I am using Columns UI, double clicking the playlist entry. Windows XP SP2. Foobar2000 0.9.4.2. -------------------- Song List: keikoniumboards.ke.funpic.org/files/songlist.html

I dont understand why people are against foobar managing your video files. I think its a great idea (as long as its forwarded to your default player). "Whats the point?" I hear alot of you say. Simple; foobar is AWESOME at managing and categorizing a music collection and it stands to reason that some people may want the same for their video collection. I for example have videos spread over 3 external HD's (and some internals aswell as networked computers) and it would be far easier and convinient for me to find my videos via foobar than explorer. Would you rather select the track you want to play using explorer everytime? No. Same reason with videos.
I think this has great potential, perhaps in time allow users to assign an album art for each season of a tv series/DVD etc. Anyway, I tried using the plugin however it doesnt seem to work at all. I've tried playing avi's and wmv's but when I click on them, nothing happens at all. Do you know whats wrong? BTW my default player is VLC. Keep up the work Santa Sam. |

Which Videoplayer would allow that? MPlayer? |

Did you mean "Enqeue in foobar2000" string in the explorer context menu? It works for files types that associated to foobar2000 in its preferences. Also you can drag&drop videos to playlist. |
