Women dressed as maids have long been a staple otaku fantasy, and now the new hotel in the Atami resort area of Shizuoka Prefecture is promising to give the geeks their greatest desire for just 25,000 yen per night with two meals thrown in for good measure.

"When it started offering advance bookings over the Internet, it filled is 100 rooms in a single day," a hotel industry insider tells Shukan Jitsuwa.

The maid hotel is actually called My Sweet Home Moe Room. The otaku oasis was originally due to open on June 19, but delays caused by construction work and the training of maids put back the opening date to July 1.

To make sure My Sweet Home stands out above the pack and does not get the average otaku complaining that it is merely another cosplay accommodation, staff at the hotel have been instructed to use only the archaic form of Japanese that a real maid would use, as well as only to ever refer to customers as "Master."

Maids also serve the evening meal and breakfast that come with the price of an overnight stay. My Sweet Home also offers plenty of other services that are as saucy as the outfits its staff are dressed in.

"If you bring a swimsuit and wear it while having a bath, you can ask for a maid to come in with you," Shukan Jitsuwa quotes a message on the hotel's Web site as saying.

My Sweet Home also promises to provide a selection of what it calls secret services, which can be requested free or be partaken of for a price.

However, when response to the maid hotel's Web site was so huge when it initially posted, operators were forced to add a disclaimer that it is not a sex business.

"Apparently, they were getting requests along the lines of whether it would be possible to slap the maid into a dog collar and chain her up," the hotel industry insider tells Shukan Jitsuwa.

My Sweet Home's operators are quick to stress that its secret services will not see the maids getting up to any hanky panky.

"Probably, it'll only be things like shoulder massages or washing backs," My Sweet Home's operator tells Shukan Jitsuwa. "But, I'm a regular of maid cafes, myself, and there are times when I sort of imagine what I'd like the maids to be doing to me. I hope that one day we may be able to get the maids to do those kinds of things here." (By Ryann Connell)

I personally feel sorry for the women who work there. And I think the people who called in to ask perverted questions like if you could get the maids into a collar and such, they should be ashamed. Dumb fantasies aside, you should still have consideration that the maids are still people, not elaborate sex toys. The fact alone that you're allowed to (and would even consider) asking one of the maids to come in when you're taking a bath as long as you wear a swimsuit is disturbing.

I admit, I've never had fantasies about, or get a hard-on at the thought of, sexy maids. I don't get pleasure out of being called "Master" by attractive women and I'm not an advocate of male pride. Look, overall I just hope My Sweet Home Moe Room's worker satisfaction doesn't sink like the Titanic hitting an iceberg just as it sets sail.

Joking aside, there are enough people out there who DO get hard ons and pleasure at the thought of sexy maids and the power that seems to emanate from being called "Master." I predict a whole bunch of guilty egos to skyrocket after experiencing something like that. But someone's pulling the strings and capitalizing on what used to be just a fantasy.

Personally, I like the maid outfit thing.

I would think that the women who sign up to do this kind of job would be ok with doing something like that, for the most part. I sure hope no one has forced them to do anything that isn't already outlined in rules of conduct or something. Now THAT would be really sad. It'd be interesting to see how the women feel about working there.

I'd think it would be more like a large cosplay job, I know some people (especially girls) really enjoy cosplaying and this is more or less like a job FOR cosplaying... and they'd get money out of it, a LOT of money, apparently. Well, whatever, though they'd also have to endure some freaky otakus out there... >.>

There's a fine line between fantasy and reality, and this new hotel will bring the fantasies of males all over the world to reality (yes, that means you too, don't bother denying it ).

With that said, as an avid fan of anime of both the public friendly and not-so-public-friendly sort, I just hope they don't cross that threshhold as well in their bid to create an "otaku industry". After all, some things that come up as fantasies, should remain as such.

Personaly I feel sorry for those women that have to go through that, since theres going to be so many instances where a "otaku"[s] will feel tempted to reach out, or get a little TO excited. I feel that cos-play should stay cos-play and not this. [even though it's pretty neat, that someone would put something like this together.]

The "Master" thing is pretty wierd.As much as I like subbmisive women,I don't think I would make the chick take a bath with me just because she'll lose their job if she doesn't.(S&M works for me at the moment).Then again,I could be wrong,maybe they enjoy their job.Even if that's the case I still like it if the girl's into me too.

Meh, whatever makes money. The Japanese are a little bit fixated on servitude and fetishes aren't they? Oh well, I think maids are hot and being served by one would be cool, but it would also weird me out a bit. I've always been independant. If I want breakfast, I make it. When my room needs cleaning, I do it. That's just how I've always been, and having someone cramp my stlye would irritate me a bit.
