Not everyone loves karaoke according to a gadgets' survey

The karaoke machine is the UK's least popular gadget, suggests a recent survey.

It came top when people were asked to choose from a list of gadgets they wished had never been invented.

22% said they would like to see the back of the singing machine, followed in second place by 24-hour sports channels (17%).

The survey also found a gender divide, with more men voting against karaoke and more women wanting rid of sports channels.

Games consoles and mobile phones came third and fourth, perhaps hinting at a love-hate relationship with some of our most-used gadgets.

People were also asked to choose the three most important inventions from another list.

Smoke alarms came top with 69%, followed closely by seat belts with 64%, and baby seats with 29%

Looking to the future, the public's top three dream gadgets were a robot cleaner, time machine and a teleporter.
