Sharing folders allows you to create browsable groups of files and images while still maintaining the privacy and security of your My Files page.
Files located within the root folder of your My Files page are only shareable one at a time. This is a security precaution to prevent anyone from accidentally gaining permanent access to all of your shared files.
When a folder is shared, all folders and files marked as "Public" within that folder are easily accessed by anyone to whom you provide the sharing link. By moving, deleting or setting that folder as "Private" you can prevent further access to your files by anyone other than yourself.
Direct/Hot linking allows for the downloading of files stored on a MediaPro account without actually visiting the MediaFire website. In effect it allows bypassing the file download pages and initiates downloads directly from websites, emails, instant messages, etc.
How to direct link a file:
As a MediaPro account holder, all of your existing download links are automatically direct links.
First click the "Share" link on the right column of each file.
Copy the "Sharing URL" or the "Sharing URL with File Name".
These URLs are your direct links to the file. You don't have to change anything! Share these URs by e-mail, instant messenger, or by embedding them as links in websites using HTML.
How to direct link an image:
First click the "Share" link on the right column of each file.
Copy the "Sharing URL with File Name".
You can use this URL in HTML code you can place on a web page by using it as the "src" in your <img> tag.
Your image can be displayed on any web page by using the <img> html tag. An example of an <img> html tag looks like: <img src="http://www.mediafire.com/file/6j2my0zpjlm/Forest.jpg">
The downloads column on your MyFiles page is calculated based on the number of downloads initiated and is not an exact measure of traffic or completed downloads. The advanced statistics available through this page and through your My Account page are highly accurate measures of unique downloads and data transfers. The numbers may not be exactly the same because the different ways they are tracked but if you require accurate statistics, use these Advanced Statistics.
Important Note: Advanced Statistics are only available for files downloaded after you became a MediaPro customer. For this reason, not all of your files will have available statistics.
